The Best Beach In The Philippines

Photos from WOW Philippines
I will be a cliche and say that Boracay is still, by far the best beach in the Philippines.  No other Philippine beach comes close to it. Palawan, also called the last frontier, may have its beautiful little beaches but when individually putting  these beaches side by side with Boracay, Palawan’s beaches pale in comparison.

So why do I love Boracay so much?  Let me count the ways.

Boracay has a 3 kilometer shoreline of fine dazzling white sand.  Even if you walk barefoot on a scorching sunny day, the sand seems to absorb the sun’s heat and never gets hot as to require you to wear slippers.

Blessed with warm waters from the __ sea, you can dip in Boracay’s waters any time of the day and not shiver in the cold.  And the color of the water, it makes you want to drown yourself underneath and never come back up.  Even the seabed has fine sand which makes it all the more enjoyable.

With the advent of commercialization, some folks say that Boracay is no longer the paradise that it used to be.  True there are now establishments along the beach but I do believe that it only opened up the island to all walks of life.  Now it’s not just for people who prefer to rough it out with nature.  The filthy rich can have the luxury that they are accustomed to while the not so rich still have their choices of very affordable accommodations.

The food on the island has also become very varied which can only mean that people have more places and restaurants to choose from.  Those who complain that the place has become quite expensive don’t know where to look, or lack the stomach for adventure.  You only have to dig deeper to see that not everything is priced for foreigners.

The nightlife is thumping as well.  There are a lot more bars and establishments now so after a full day of swimming and frolicking under the sun, you can drown your sorrows in beer or dance the night away in the many bars and restaurants by the beach.

Boracay has also become more accessible.  Before, people have to spend long hours at sea just to be able to save on fares, but now with plummeting plane fares, everyone can just hop on a plane and be on the island in just a couple of hours minus the financial distress.

Having said that, what’s not to love about Boracay, the best beach in the Philippines.

nice photos! everyone wants to go to boracay. i'm glad i went there, just once only in mid-80s when it was still a bit “virgin”, with no electricity so it was really a beach holiday! with lots of developments there now hope there are enough guidelines on making it a good holiday destination for all.

I've been to Boracay and I fell in love with the place. I would love to visit more beautiful beaches around the country.

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

Yes we can! Via the Strong Republic Nautical Highway. We will have to take the barges (Batangas – Mindoro, Mindoro – Caticlan) though which cost a pretty penny if we bring our own rides.

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

Hi Or, thanks. About the xlinks, I try to just link with travel blogs though, sorry bout that. Besides, there's not much benefit in linking with another blog of a different niche. If you have a travel related blog, then by all means lets!

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

Hi Arnold, it really is a nice place to visit. Just like what I replied to Or's comment, I try to exchange links with travel related blogs exclusively.

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

Hi Bai, thanks! Perhaps you could visit our islands one of these days.

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

Hi Carnation, it's time you revisit! You'd be amazed at the developments there. The beach is still very fine I can tell you that. About those guidelines, when I'm not feeling lazy (which is most of the time) I can probably do one. You could also visit the Wow Philippines site if you want.

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

    Hi Chyng, wow indeed. :)

  • pinoytraveller Jun 9, 2009

You have to fly in to the Philippines first. Once you're in Manila or Cebu, there are lots of flights going there.

    Indeed. :)

Philippines has very veautiful beaches. Hope someday u can visit Caramoan Peninsula too. Its a hidden Paradise.

  • xycris Jul 8, 2009

i agree that boracay is one of the world's best beaches and it is good to know that is shows signs of progress for a better livelihood of the people living there and better tourists' experiences.

however, despite all the progress, i just hope that they would help progress mother nature as well in making it still as one of the world's best beaches for it is her that made it one of the best. i vote for sustainable development! 😉

  • trevora Jul 19, 2009

While I agree Boracay has a great stretch of beach I'd consider more than just the fact the sand is white, clean and long. I've been to both areas you speak of and I'd rate the beaches I've been to in Palawan as nicer simply because they aren't over run with tourists and all the noise, pollution and the rest that goes along with that.

  • palawantravel Aug 9, 2009

Nice picture of Boracay. it has a nice view of the beach with crystal clear water. Thank you for the article.

  • grace Aug 11, 2009

Boracay!!! Oh yeah!!! I agree with you. I pray to God that my husband and I will have the chance to visit Boracay on one of our vacation there.

  • Elyong Aug 13, 2009

Never been to Boracay… i will someday.

  • pinoytraveller Aug 14, 2009

Hi Elyong, I really believe you should.

  • pinoytraveller Aug 14, 2009

    No problem!

  • pinoytraveller Aug 14, 2009

Hi Grace, I hope your prayer will be answered very soon!

  • cinnamon_beach_vacation Sep 4, 2009

Please give me more information. I love it, Thanks again.

  • katague Sep 12, 2009

I have been to Boracay only once, but promised not to return ( too commercialized for my taste). There are other white sand beaches in the Philippines comparable if not better than Boracay. One in particular is Poctoy White Beach in Marinduque.

  • pinoytraveller Sep 13, 2009

Poctoy? Hmm, this is my first time hearing about it. Will check it out one of these days! Thanks..

  • katague Sep 13, 2009

Yes, please check it out. Marinduque is not well known as Boracay, but if you want white sand beaches ( no night clubs), hospitable people, caves, waterfalls, fringing reefs, subterranean rivers, eco tourism activities, old churches and the Moriones Festival, my island paradise is the place to visit. If you want to spend money and stay at the most luxurious and expensive resort in South East Asia, there is Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa in Buenavista, Marinduque.

  • lifemoto Sep 14, 2009

that is truly the beauty of the Philippines. Great place to escape from the city light.

  • homebased money Sep 14, 2009

WoW great pictures over here. You have created a good view of the site.It seems really worth visiting manila.

  • lapak2000 Sep 15, 2009

I have been to Boracay 3x and I still want to visit it in the future or maybe this year. I don't know if Shangrilla Hotel is finished already.

If you are in the United States of America I think Bahamas is also good.

  • pinoytraveller Sep 15, 2009

Thanks! Not mine though. Got them from Wow Phiippines.

  • pinoytraveller Sep 15, 2009

Hi Katague, actually I've already been to Marinduque. Did a little excursion on your famous caves there. But not Poctoy though. :)

  • pinoytraveller Sep 15, 2009

  • pinoytraveller Sep 15, 2009

    Oh most definitely.

  • pinoytraveller Sep 15, 2009

Bahamas is great! One of my dream destinations. I can't get enough of Boracay myself, and I've been there plenty of times.

  • Isis Sep 16, 2009

I haven't been to Boracay yet. But I was in Aklan last Holy Week. Took a bus and a ferry through the nautical highway. It was a pleasant trip. 😀

Your blog is one of my favorite Pinoy travel blogs. Hope we can exchange links. 😀

  • pinoytraveller Sep 16, 2009

Hi Isis, sure I'll link you up. You should have stopped by Boracay! Anyway, lots more chances for you to go there.

You can add this site over here get more traffic and money,

  • Ivy@Spinning Lovely Days Sep 24, 2009

It's true that Boracay's natural beauty sets the standard, but I'm not too keen on the party atmosphere. :)

  • pinoytraveller Sep 25, 2009

Hi Ivy, there are still portions of Boracay that are pretty quiet. I usually stay around station 3 when I'm there so I can get away from the crowd. Try Angol Point next time. Very nice quiet resort there.

  • pinoytraveller Sep 25, 2009

I'll check out your site. Thanks for dropping by.

  • ramica Oct 4, 2009

you must try camay coast for something new

  • Post Free Classified Oct 5, 2009

    HI pinoy ,
Why don't you post your add over here and get more traffic

  • Sydney Hotels Oct 9, 2009

It's true that Boracay is a beautiful beach but I don't think that this is the most beautiful. I'll stick w/ Palawan. Very beautiful and the people are very friendly. Nature stand on it's own because people from Palawan was able to preserve it's natural beauty.

  • pinoytraveller Oct 9, 2009

Yeah in terms of natural beauty alone, Palawan is peerless I think, but if you consider other things, and everything as a whole, Boracay is a more complete beach compared to those in Palawan. But that's just me.

he Philippine Islands is a one of a kind Southeast Asian country located at the western part of the Pacific Ocean. The country is an archipelago composed of 7,107 islands making the Philippines bound to have so many famous islands and beaches. Philippines is gifted with a vast beauty of nature in every aspect. Here, one can discover one of the most amazing beaches in the world with its wonderful wildlife and sea creatures one could ever find.

About saving some of your money in visiting a place, you don't have to worry because I can recommend you LMT or LastMinuteTravel. I always rely on their services whenever I visit some other countries. They can find what you need, a good hotel with a good price, they can book for your flight. They have a lot of good deals with good prices. Try to visit their site and enjoy their services too as I am.
